When it comes to customer satisfaction, UIA insurance is currently ranking higher than the likes of RIAS, Direct Line and MORE TH>N according to Which?

Over the period between October 2010 and April 2011 Which? asked 9,783 of its members about their home insurance focussing on issues relating to customer satisfaction.

The results put UIA Insurance in seventh position with a customer score of 69%.

Mutuals Performed Well

The survey looked at, ease of obtaining a quote, purchasing a policy and contacting the provider, as well as how well customers feel they are treated by staff. UIA received four out of five stars in each category. The survey was carried out by Which?

Three major insurance brokers announced acquisitions this week, with two taking place in the Midwest and one each on the East and West coasts.

Meanwhile a major London-based broker says it is combining its Italian business with an indigenous broker.

BB&T Insurance Services of Raleigh, N.C., says it is continuing to expand its California operations with the acquisition of Precept Group with offices in Irvine and San Ramon, Calif.

Founded in 1987, Precept serves middle-market and large corporate clients, ranging from 50 to 50,000 employees, with benefits consulting, procurement, administration outsourcing, health management, retirement and online enrollment services.

There is a government health plan called Medicare that provides hospital, medical and surgical benefits to patients age 65 and older with certain illnesses.
